This is the level editor I created for our RTS game (Defenders of Tanotia).


  • Creating our own .boot (terrain) files which includes texture paths, vertices and indices for the heightfield.
  • Creating our own .boon(navigation) files for the navigation-mesh.
  • Creating our own .bool(level) files that holds all the props paths and their orientations in the world.
  • Uses same engine as the game.
  • Props can be placed, edited, random rotated, moved and so on.
  • Navigation blocks can easily be clicked out and when the .boon file is saved it generates a navigation-mesh. This mesh can also be generated on demand for a visual representation. (block editing done by Petter Lundgren)
  • Auto-load on models in certain category folders for faster artist pipeline.
